87.6 per cent of Moray's adults given first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, with nearly half fully vaccinated

TEAMS involved with the Covid-19 vaccine rollout in Moray are beginning to re-focus on administering second jabs – with nearly 90 per cent of people in the area now having received their first.

Today's statistics show that 67,902 people (or 87.6 per cent of the area's adult population) have now received their first Covid-19 jab in Moray.

This is the highest first dose coverage anywhere across mainland Scotland.

In the last seven days, 1610 adults received their first dose of a vaccine in Moray – down on the 7278 the week prior as the boosted vaccine roll out slows and more second jabs are given.

The number of second jabs administered rose from 4034 to 5010, taking the number of people fully vaccinated in Moray to 36,480, or 47.1 per cent of the area's adult population.

Across Scotland, 70.9 per cent of adults (3,155,733 people) have received their first jab and 43.1 per cent (1,913,809 people) have received both.

Across the NHS Grampian health board region, 74.1 per cent of adults (350,983 people) have received a first dose, with 41.6 per cent (197,198 people) having been fully vaccinated.
