NINETY-FIVE cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Moray within the last seven days, taking the area's total since the outbreak began to 1733.

This is an increase on the 68 positive cases confirmed in last week's update, although the number of negative cases confirmed has almost doubled.

Due to an increase in testing, 1303 negative Covid-19 tests have been confirmed since May 4 – which is a big rise on the 709 negative cases confirmed in last week's update.

Moray continues to have the worst rate of Covid-19 per head of population in Scotland, with 100 cases per 100,000 people.

Of those 40, 30 have tested positive for Covid-19 and passed away within 28 days, while 10 had the virus mentioned on their death certificate.

NHS Grampian – which includes Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City – has now confirmed 15,284 cases of coronavirus since the outbreak began. That's an increase of 216 on the 15,068 reported last week.
