The response from readers and advertisers over the last eight weeks has been overwhelming and hundreds of individuals and families can look forward to a brighter Christmas thanks to your generosity.

Friday, December 20 until 1pm is the deadline for making donations of gifts, food or cash to the appeal.

All referrals for support come through the Moray Council social work department which has been busy distributing items in the run up to Christmas and will continue to do so in the coming days.

Linda Commons and Lorraine Smith, who co-ordinate the appeal, and joint content editors Joe Millican and Chris Saunderson, said: “Thank you so much to everyone who has supported our appeal.”

This year it was in association with the St Giles Centre in Elgin.
