AN EVENT aimed at ensuring nobody in Moray spends Christmas Day alone is making a return this year.

'A Very Moray Community Christmas' is inviting people to put themselves, or friends and family, forward to be a special guest at the dinner, which takes place at the Grant Hall in Rothes.

The event took place in 2017 but took a break last year due to the ill health of some of the organisers. Two years ago, some 87 people attended – the youngest six months old and the oldest 93.

While hoping for a similarly good turnout this time round, organisers are also seeking volunteers.

The meal and festivities are open to anyone, and the event is simply aiming to ensure everyone has someone this Christmas time. Singles, couples, disabled, able-bodied, seniors and juniors are all welcome.

There will be a free prize bingo a visit from Santa Claus for each guest.

To volunteer or put yourself of someone else forward for the meal, contact Linda Allman on 01807 500768 or Stephanie on 01340 831262. Alternatively, email moraycommunitychristmas@gmail.com.
