A96 closed west of Elgin after bus crash

THE A96 is currently closed on the western edge of Elgin following a serious crash involving a Stagecoach bus.

Emergency services are at the scene after the incident at around 9.42am this morning between the Eight Acres Hotel and Oak Wood on the town's outskirts.

The road is closed in both directions and is likely to remain closed for some time. A diversion is in place.

There are reports that the collision was between a car and Stagecoach bus, with the car ending up on its roof.

A helicopter was also spotted flying in the vicinity.

Police are advising drivers to be aware and leave extra time for journeys.
