Elgin set for overnight surfacing improvements on A96

OVERNIGHT surfacing improvements are set to be carried out on the A96 in Elgin from August 20 to September 2.

The work is part of a £500,000 project which will also deliver active travel improvements.

Amey, which is carrying out the improvements on behalf of Transport Scotland, says the project will benefit more than 22,500 vehicles which use this route each day.

Resurfacing will be carried out on East Road in Elgin between Mycroft Road and Reiket Lane from 7.30pm to 6.30am each night.

The work will be undertaken using lane closures with temporary traffic signals.

Linkwood Way and Pinefield Parade will also be surfaced as part of the works on behalf of the local authority, which will require overnight closures and diversions.
