The well-known academic and TV presenter Professor Alice Roberts will be kicking off her new book tour at Eden Court in Inverness next month.

'Crypt' is the final instalment of her acclaimed trilogy which explores life, death, and disease in the Middle Ages.

On stage she'll be talking about the archaeological evidence which shows the terrible brutality directed at an ethnic minority in medieval England.

She'll also be exploring the impact of incurable epidemics sweeping through Europe and speaking about how modern science is unlocking secrets from the watery grave of the Mary Rose shipwreck.

Having originally studied and practiced medicine, Professor Roberts has presented TV programmes on a wide range of subjects including biology, archaeology and history.

Last year she presented two series on Channel 4: Ancient Egypt by Train as well as Fortress Britain.

She also filmed the eleventh series of her popular BBC series Digging for Britain and published Wolf Road, her first children’s novel.

Alice Roberts: Crypt Tour 2024 will be in the Empire Theatre at Eden Court on Thursday, February 22, from 7.30pm.

Running time two hours 20 minutes including interval. Suitable for ages 14 and over.
