AN ANNUAL beer festival is set to return to Elgin this weekend after a coronavirus-enforced absence.

Moray Concert Brass and Lossiemouth-based Windswept Brewery are linking up to put on the Beerfest at Bishopmill Hall in Elgin between 3pm and 11pm on Saturday, March 12.

All beer-lovers are invited to attend the fest, where craft ales will be available, along with hot food and music courtesy of the Oomph band.

Glenn Munro, musical director of Moray Concert Brass said: “It is great that we are able to host the Beerfest this year.

"It will help to raise money for our 30th anniversary West of Scotland tour this summer.

“We like to make the tour as affordable as possible for all our members, and Beerfest is a great help achieve that, while giving the people of Moray a fantastic day of music, food and great beer.”

Windswept Brewery director Nigel Tiddy added: “We are delighted to be supporting Moray Concert Brass with their beer festival this year.

“After a tough few years for both the hospitality and performing arts industries, it’s fantastic to be able to come together to support an event such as this.

"We are looking forward to showcasing some of our most popular beers while helping raise funds for the band.”

The beers available on the day will include cask beers Hurricane IPA, Winter Rye and Wolf.

Keg beers will also be available to sample, including Lighthouse, the award-winning APA, Weizen, Tornado, Mistral and Clavie.

Stein Brass will provide live music throughout the day with a selection of polkas and waltzes, traditional to a Beerfest, as well as popular sing-along tunes guaranteed to give the event a really authentic feel.

Tickets for the event are £20, which will include a free beer glass and £10 in beer tokens. Wine, cider and soft drinks will also be available.

Tickets are available from Windswept Brewery in Lossiemouth, MCB’s webpage, https://www.morayconcertbrass.com, or can be reserved by email mcbeerfest30@gmail.com or via WhatsApp at 07897 205300.
