An appeal is being made for the return of a pair of special shoes which belong to a pensioner with vascular dementia.
The shoes were bought for Maarten De-Vry because his condition also causes him problems with his balance.
The 77-year-old former accountant was admitted to Spynie Nursing Home in November.
His shoes, along with a red Berghaus polar fleece jacket, have been missing since shortly after Christmas.
Dawn Howard has been Maarten's partner for the past 30 years.
She said: "The shoes are wide-fitting and were bought specifically for Maarten's heavily bandaged feet and swollen legs.
"They have stiffeners built into their backs for increased support which help him enormously with his balance.
"Meanwhile his fleece jacket helped keep him warm as he feels the cold terribly.
"Maarten is not allowed out of the nursing home, so he can't have lost them.
"My heart sank when I realised that both the shoes and the jacket had both gone missing."
Dawn, who lives in Portgordon, continued: "The care staff are brilliant and I can't speak highly enough of them.
"However they have searched everywhere, but to no avail.
"If anybody knows the whereabouts of the shoes and the jacket, please get in touch."
