PEOPLE affected by drug abuse are being invited to meet with the Arrows team in Moray towns this week.

The team are at Asda in Elgin throughout this afternoon (Tuesday), before visiting Buckie and Keith tomorrow (Wednesday).

Arrows will be about until 6pm at Asda in Elgin, with visits to Buckie Tesco from 10am until 1.30pm tomorrow and Keith Tesco from 2pm to 6pm.

If you or a loved one is affected by drug-related issues, in particular cuckooing (where someone takes over a home to deal drugs), substance dependency, drug-related harm or sexual health issues, the team from Arrows, a Quarriers service, are on hand to help – with support from Police Scotland and the NHS.

Arrows will be offering Naloxone training (which reverses the effect of opiates) and offering take-away kits.

Head along if you think you would benefit from having immediate access to rescue medication for yourself, a friend, family member or vulnerable person in your community.

Justin Jansen, Service Manager for Arrows said: “This is a welcome opportunity to bring our teams together with our partners into a focused outreach-based operation to reach those who we know to be most at risk.

“Some individuals reach a point where they lose choice about what they can do to change their lives and are unable to take themselves out of the harmful situation.

"This is when outreach becomes the most effective way to reach individuals most at risk.”

Operation Protector is a joint partnership operation aimed at reducing drug-related harm in the communities in the north-east.

Arrows is there to support anyone worried about alcohol and drug use, whether their own or a loved ones. Support is available to anyone with any concerns, no matter how small, about drinking, drugs or legal highs.

At times it’s the friends, family or other people around an individual who may recognise their drug or alcohol issue first.

Arrows can support friends and family to understand and discuss problematic substance use with their loved ones.

Quarriers runs more than 100 services across Scotland. For more information, visit www.quarriers.org.uk.
