SINGER songwriter Dougie MacLean has made a date to return to Moray.

The Scottish musician and producer composed the 1977 classic Caledonia along with music for the 1992 epic Last of the Mohicans.

MacLean, who has developed a unique blend of lyrical, roots based songwriting and instrumental composition, was made an OBE in 2011 for services to music and charity.

Two years later, he was awarded the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Lifetime Achievement.

His songs have been covered by Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald, Ronan Keating, Mary Black, Frankie Miller, Cara Dillon, Kathy Mattea and many more.

The performance takes place at Findhorn's Universal Hall on Thursday, August 8 at 8pm.

Visit the venue's website for ticket availability and pricing.
