B*Witched pay touching tribute to The Script's Mark Sheehan at Elgin's MacMoray Family Festival
B*WITCHED paid a fitting tribute to a good friend at this weekend's MacMoray Family Festival.
During their headline show, the girl group paid tribute to their friend Mark Sheehan, who was best known for his work in Irish rock band The Script.
The festival was the group's first performance since the guitarist passed away on April 14 and all four members of the band appeared to be emotional as they dedicated their song I Shall Be There to him.
Speaking exclusively to The Northern Scot after the performance B*Witched's Edele Lynch said:"This was the first time we have been on stage since Mark passed away. It was really emotional but it's really nice that everybody in the audience joined in and you could really feel them with us, and it was the perfect song as well."
Keavy Lynch said: "He was just an absolutely amazing person and it has been just such a shock, Edele and I grew up with him - he was our dance teacher and he even wrote some of our unreleased third album and yeah it was just so shocking and such a sad time for his family."
The group - who celebrated their 25th anniversary this year - were also delighted with their reception at the festival, with a sell-out crowd of 10,000 enjoying the show.
Sinead O'Carroll said: "It was absolutely amazing, everyone looked like they were having a ball. We would love to come back again, Elgin is a lovely little town and clearly the community here all get together and love each other."
