Back to the 80s, which will take place on January 20, 2024, promises to be an ‘unforgettable night of disco, dancing and fundraising’.

Local singer Chloe Mac and DJ Boogie Box will provide the night’s entertainment, ensuring that audiences will be ‘dancing till dawn’.

Elgin fast food business, Nae Bad Food, will cater for the event, providing the likes of burgers, pizza, and nachos to accompany the jam-packed night.

The fundraiser was set up to raise money for Elgin Youth Café and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Aidan Henderson, from Elgin, is a volunteer at the youth café and has set up the event, which he is running himself.

He said: “These two charities are particularly close to my heart.

“I first attended the youth café as a teen in 2015 and because I was so grateful for the impact it had on me, I decided to come back and volunteer as an adult.

“I really enjoy interacting and supporting the young people the charity helps.”

The youth café offers free meals for teenagers on Tuesdays, cooking lessons on Wednesdays, and a disco on Fridays.

Without support from the community, Mr Henderson says the youth café's work would not be possible.

He encourages members of the public to attend, have a memorable night celebrating the 80s and donate to the causes the event is in aid of.

The event starts at 7pm and will end at 11.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and are now available through Elgin Town Hall’s website.
