THE first day of the sold-out MacMoray Family Festival went ahead yesterday, with crowds and bands alike enjoying the event.
Around 10,000 people bought tickets to the sold-out weekend festival, which marks the event's second year.
Yesterday's main stage line up was packed with incredible acts, with eight piece soul band Scooty and the Skyhooks, dance musician Cascada and Cotton-eyed Joe singers the Rednex all performing in the afternoon.
Speaking after their performance, Scooty and the skyhooks singer Davie Ross said: "The crowd was absolutely excellent and we are delighted to be here.
"We heard great things about MacMoray last year and it is just a fantastic festival, it has a really good feel to it and even this early in the afternoon, the crowd is fantastic."
The festival was also very special for Swedish musical group Rednex, who had never been to Scotland before and were wow-ed by the Scottish crowds.
They said: "Our experience in Scotland has really been fantastic, we have really enjoyed it - we love the people here, everyone is so friendly and we would come back tomorrow!"
The festival's evening acts also enjoyed their time on the main stage, with crowds singing and dancing along to hits from the Bay City Rollers and 90's groups Five and B*Witched.
Five member, Scott Robinson said: "It is clichéd but also true, Scottish crowds are the best and the crowd today was phenomenal."
B*Witched also seemed to enjoy the event, with praise for the festival crowd. Singer Edele Lynch said: "The crowd were amazing, I would gladly come back here every year."
