GENEROUS members of staff at Baxters have raised £1600 for a colleague after he suffered a stroke.
Andy Milner, from Buckie, worked as a line technician for five years before suffering a stroke in January 2021.
He has since lost his mobility and hasn't returned to work – but he was recently given a boost by colleagues who raised £1602 for him.
Luke Johnson and Joao Antunes organised quizzes, football squares and even got their chests waxed to raise cash.
Colleagues at both factories in Fochabers donated cash, with a cheque presented to Andy outside his home this week.
Andy's wife Rose, who also worked at Baxters but is off to look after her husband, said the generosity of the staff at Baxters has meant the world, especially after a recent setback in Andy's recovery.
"The two guys have been brilliant and a lot of people donated," she said. "Andy hasn't been back at work and these guys came up with this idea to raise funds.
"Luke has been visiting when he can, too – he's a topper of a lad.
"Baxters, too, have been fantastic in every way. The managers, who put contributions in, have been lovely and have been brilliant with me.
"I was supposed to be back at work but Andy had a setback at Christmas, having had seizure and Covid.
"Work have been great with allowing us more time."
