The 17th annual event had been due to take place at the end of July.

However, organisers said the ongoing coronavirus pandemic meant it could not go ahead.

In a statement, they said: "It is with an extremely heavy heart that we must confirm the Belladrum Tartan Heart festival 2020 has been cancelled."

Headliners were due to have been Nile Rodgers and Chic, Emeli Sandé, Passenger, Shed Seven and Stiff Little Fingers.

"The health and safety of our Belladrum family, staff, supporters and local community are our number one priority.

"We are wholly aware of the role Belladrum has to play in the much bigger picture of the covid-19 pandemic and its effect on our local community, emergency services and the country.

"While we are absolutely devastated to not be able to go ahead this year, we are looking forward to safer times in 2021.

"Stay safe, look after each other and we look forward to welcoming you back to the biggest and best Bella yet."

Tickets already bought for this year's festival will be rolled on to 2021 and anyone due to make a final payment will have that deferred until May 2021.
