A bench and a planter have been installed beside Keith's bandstand in memory of a man who did so much for the town.
Amongst his many other enthusiasms Dave 'Davie' Carson who passed away in April was a keen supporter of Keith in Flower.
As part of his energetic efforts to help the town look its best, he had applied during the course of last year to get 'greening scheme' funding via Moray Council for a small herb planter for St Rufus Gardens.
His friend Callum Stuart said: "After we lost Davie, we had the idea of increasing the size of the planter and installing a bench in his memory – which Keith Community Council fully supported.
"We built the planter using recycled plastic boards, laid a base and installed the bench. The planter now grows a variety of herbs for the people of Keith to take cuttings from."
The bench was presented to Davie's family on Saturday, with his widow Helen, daughter Denice, grandson Harry and son-in-law Ross being the first to sit on it.
Keith Community Council and Keith in Flower want to express their gratitude to Fraser Clark for helping lay the slabs and to Barry Fettes and Kevin Mitchell for the use of machinery.
Besides the community council and Keith in Flower, Davie Carson was heavily involved in numerous local groups including Keith Rotary Club and Keith Christmas Lights.
At the time of his passing the 72-year-old was employed as a salesman for Rizza's Ice Cream in Huntly.
