RAF Lossiemouth welcomes record number of people to friends and families day
More families than ever enjoyed RAF Lossiemouth’s annual Friends and Families Day on Saturday, July 13.
Over 4500 service personnel, families, and guests made their way to the station to enjoy a fun day of attractions and air displays.
The growth in guests reflects the increase in personnel serving at the station.
Lossie Fest saw air displays by RAF Lossiemouth-based Typhoons and a P-8A Poseidon, as well as an F-35B Lightning from RAF MarhaM, U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons and an
Irish Air Corps CASA C-295 took pride of place in the static display.
There was also entertainment from RAF Lossiemouth Pipes and Drums, RAF Lossiemouth Voluntary Band, and Lossiemouth Military Wives Choir.
Group Captain Jim Lee, Station Commander, RAF Lossiemouth, said: “We’re delighted that Lossie Fest 24 has seen more families through the gate than ever before.
“While the Station continues to deliver more on operations, at home and overseas, more is being asked of more RAF families. The day is primarily to thank them for their support.
