A TRIO bands have become the eighth, ninth and tenth acts announced for April’s MacMoray Family Easter Festival as excitement continues to build.

Buzzcocks, formed in the late 70s and famous for their hit ‘Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t Have)?’ will be joined by Big Country and Scooty and The Skyhooks.

Punk band Buzzcocks, who also had success with 1979 album ‘Singles Going Steady’ have one remaining member from that time – with Steve Diggle on vocals and rhythm guitar these days.

Big Country were formed in Dunfermline in 1981 and reached the UK’s top 10 within just a couple of years with their hit ‘Fields of Fire’.

The group are most well known for their hit ‘In a Big Country’ from their 1983 album The Crossing.

The second running of the MacMoray Festival is due to take place across the weekend of April 29 and 30, 2023.

Organiser Andy Macdonald said: “There’s got to be something for everyone and you can see that there is from the 10 bands we have announced already.

“We’re delighted to be able to bring two popular rock bands to the festival.”

The duo will be joined by Scooty and the Skyhooks, a local soul band with a brass section.

The group will play a lively and energetic set of Motown songs.

“When I did an event at Lossiemouth Town Hall a couple of years ago, Scooty and the Skyhooks sold the place the out,” Andy Macdonald said.
