MORAY businesses are being urged to step forward and "blow their own trumpet" ahead of annual awards.
The Moray Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Lunch, now in its fifth year, is open to all Moray Speyside businesses – members and non-members.
Tickets are now on sale for the event on Wednesday, December 4, at The Mill House Hotel, Tynet. Applications are open until 5pm on Wednesday, November 13, at www.moraychamber.co.uk.
Moray Chamber will be presenting awards to businesses who have excelled in exporting, have shown themselves to be a strong SME in the region, and to a new, up-and-coming business. Last year’s winners included Speyside Cooperage, AJ Engineering and Wild Blossom respectively.
The celebration of Moray businesses and the role they play in Scotland's economy will include guest speaker Tim Allan, president of Scottish Chambers of Commerce.
Sarah Medcraf, Moray Chamber chief executive, said: "In Moray we tend to not want to blow our own trumpet, but our awards give great exposure for the winning business and great work should be recognised.
"So, go against the grain and complete an application form.
"We work closely with a number of businesses, but there are over 3500 businesses in Moray and the judges want to see a variety of exciting businesses coming forward.
"It is a tough business climate, but our resilience is what makes us Moray Speyside."
Tickets cost £35 per person.
