A thank-you is being organised for all the folk in Burghead and Cummington who have been helping others during the pandemic.

Seymour Monro, the Lord-Lieutenant of Moray, aims to meet residents – at a proper social distance – to offer his personal appreciation for the assistance they have given the community.

The thank-you will take place in Burghead on Thursday at around lunchtime.

An exact time and place will be announced later subject to numbers attending and weather.

A community council spokesperson said: "We also extremely grateful for the way that the community has pulled together during these difficult time and thank you all most sincerely.

"We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Thursday.

"Anyone is invited who may have made deliveries, made scrubs, provided meals and transport or helped family, friends and neighbours.

"This list is not exhaustive and many of you, who have helped in any way, may be unknown to us.

"Shop workers, the local publicans and staff at the pharmacy along with postal workers are other examples of unsung heroes that would be most welcome.

"If you have played you part, however small that you might think that may be, you would be welcome to come along."

So that organisers can get an idea on the numbers, contact Les Taylor at BCCC2013@hotmail.co.uk before 5pm on Monday.
