TEACHER Dawn Ure wanted to set her pupils a lockdown challenge that would bring art to life.

And judging by the efforts of the P4-7 children at St Gerardine in Lossiemouth, they certainly threw themselves into the challenge.

Mrs Ure wanted them to learn more about famous paintings and artists behind them.

"First of all they had to research famous paintings, then learn a bit about the artist.

"The third part of the project was to recreate the painting itself using things they had about the house."

Mrs Ure added: "I was blown away with how much they got into it.

"I had seen museums around the world doing something similar and wanted a project that would encourage families to join in."

Mrs Ure, who has taught at St Gerardine for three years, admits she is missing seeing the pupils and this was another way to keep in touch with them. Teachers have been sending regular work out for children to do, but this was something very interactive.

Enjoy the children's work.
