An active effort has begun to promote Moray as an attractive place in which to invest and to come live and work.

‘Invest in Moray’ is the name that's been given to a newly produced 28-page brochure which highlights things that the region has going for it.

Amongst the many included are Moray's outstanding environment, its quality of life, the skills of the people who live here and the £100million of investment from the Moray Growth Deal.

The brochure is the work of the Moray Economic Partnership which is a collaboration between the council and several other organisations, including the chamber of commerce and the tourist board.

In the document's foreward, Graham Leadbitter, the partnership's chairman, writes: "With huge investment coming from the Moray Growth Deal, our region is set for further impressive growth.

"For our communities, we are creating jobs, workspace, homes, culture and leisure activities, so that our area – which already attracts so many visitors and new residents – can provide a truly unprecedented quality of life offer.

"Opportunities are opening now for existing businesses and developer partners, and those who want to locate here. We’d be delighted to hear from you if you can join with us to progress our vision for Moray."

This note of positivity is echoed by Kathleen Robertson, the council's leader, who writes: "Moray is on the cusp of great change, once-in-a-generational change, that will benefit our communities for decades to come.

"New homes, new jobs, new culture and leisure attractions are creating new facilities – and new aspirations – to retain our young talent and families, and to attract new residents and businesses with the skills, drive and ambition, to further enhance Moray’s quality of life."

Under the headline 'opportunity sites', the brochure states that Moray "welcomes development and investment partners who could bring forward these sites, and future ones, for the benefit of local businesses and communities".

It then goes on to list potential areas across Moray where a total about 6000 homes could be built, as well as the region's various business parks and industrial estates.
