THE iconic Buccaneer jet, which has been located in Elgin since 1996, has been moved to a new home in Fife.

The aircraft was sold to The Scottish Deer Centre near Cupar, Fife, for £28,000 at the start of September – and finally moved down the road on Sunday.

It was moved down the road via Inverness and Dunfermline to avoid too many problems with traffic.

The jet, which saw action during the Gulf War, had been located at the garage on the Elgin-Lossiemouth road for 25 years after being bought from the RAF by former owner Iain Aitkenhead.

Now, it will be turned into a tourist attraction at The Scottish Deer Centre, with people set to be offered the chance to get inside the jet's cockpit.
