Roadworks round-up for the Buckie area

A NUMBER of agencies are set to conduct roadworks in and around Buckie this coming week.

On Seafield Street in Cullen, outside the Ice Cream Shop, Scottish Hydro Electric are scheduled to be fixing a street lighting fault. It is estimated that this should be completed by January 26.

The firm are also due to be working until January 25 at the latest in Park Street, Portknockie, opposite number 6 to repair a service fault.

Scottish Hydro will be excavating across the Douglas Crescent-Stripeside-Linn Crescent junction roundabout in Buckie to upgrade an existing 11kV cable. This is due to get under way between January 15-23 for 10 working days.

Over at the junction of East Cathcart Street and Newlands Lane, outside the BT telephone exchange Vodafone will be installing cable from January 17 for three working days. They will doing similar work from the junction with High Street to the junction with Newlands Lane over the same time frame.

Due to start over January 16-17, Scottish Water will be outside 16 Marine Place for three days to replace a manhole cover.

SGN will be working across the whole length of Cluny Terrace, starting at some point between January 17 and April 16, to replace gas mains. The work is expected to take up to 133 working days.

BT will be installing a new telephone pole to the east of the A98/A990 junction, due to start on January 16-17, for three working days.

Finally, outside number 10 and 12 Spey Road, Fochabers Moray Council are beginning work from January 15-16 for three working days to extend dropped kerbing.
