NO fish, prawns or squid were taken ashore at Buckie Harbour last week as the quiet period on the landings front continued.

However, one boat – Summerton – did land 56 bags of clams.

The previous week Summerton was again the sole fishing boat landings, her catch consisting of 156 boxes and no clams

Two cargo boats called at Buckie Harbour last week.

First in was the MV Aldebaran (Lithuania) importing 1681.46 tonnes of malt from King's Lynn on February 20. She sailed light to Leith on February 23.

The Latvian-registered MV Bon Vivant (Latvia) arrived from Rotterdam on February 21, importing 2051.34 tonnes of soya from Rotterdam before sailing light to Goole two days later.
