MORAY singer Calum Jones is set to release a new single on October 18, which he hopes can be a "bridge" between his old and new work.
Calum (19), from Oran near Buckie, says his new single "ready or not" is a bit more rocky than his previous music, and that is the direction he is heading in.
He told the Northern Scot: "It's a sort of bridge between the last single and my new work. The last single was a bit poppy while this has a bit more drive about it and is a bit more rocky.
"The next songs will be a bit more intense still. This is the track that will bridge that gap.
"The music goes through a lot. We are going for emotive indie rock just now, but we started out as folk, almost celtic, rock."
Calum's last single "Iona", released this summer, currently has more than 11,000 listens on Spotify, and he may have a new album – which would be his third – coming in 2020.
Before then, he has a few gigs to play, starting with one at Speyside Brewery in Forres on October 20.
He added: "We have a few gigs that are quite close together. We are at the Ironworks in December, which will be wicked.
"Me and the band are playing at Lossie Town Hall for a cocktail night with Humble Cocktails too."
The Lossie event will take place on November 16, while Calum will play the Ironworks on December 6. He will then play in Edinburgh on December 13 and Killin on December 20.
