Burst water pipe causes closure of Elgin road

A BURST water pipe caused disruption along Elgin High Street yesterday.

Scottish Water closed Batchen Street in order to fix the burst main, with road diversions forcing drivers to drive along Elgin high street instead.

Scottish Water have now completed their repair works.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: “We responded to reports of a burst main on Batchen Street in Elgin. The repair got under way yesterday, with reinstatement due to be completed today and traffic management removed. We thank customers for their patience while this essential repair was carried out.”
