A SECTION of road in the centre of Elgin will remain shut for at least another 10 days due to gas works.
Part of Linkwood Road – where it meets the roundabout at the bottom of the railroad bridge – has been closed since September 4 due to SGN dealing with a gas escape.
The gas main is now being replaced, with SGN aiming to have it replaced and the road surface restored by the week beginning October 16. The road will then reopen.
Until then, traffic will continue to be prevented from the roundabout towards the junction with Ashgrove Road.
The diversion for eastbound traffic is New Elgin Road to Main Street to Thornhill Road to Linkwood Road.
