Call to goes out to budding young artists to create Forces charity mascot

Armed Forces youngsters in Moray are being invited to turn their artistic talents to creating a mascot for Forces Children Scotland.

BUDDING young artists from Moray’s Armed Forces communities are being encouraged to participate in a nationwide competition to design a mascot for Forces Children Scotland.

The creative brief is to create something to help civilian friends, educators, and professionals to better understand their identity as a Forces child.

There are three age categories - 4-8 years, 9–11 years and 12–16 years - and prizes will be awarded to the winners for each category.

The overall winning design will feature on the charity’s website, resources and campaigns.

The closing date for competition entries is 5pm on April 29, 2024.

Entries will be judged by members of the Forces Children Scotland team, as well as children and young people from the charity’s youth forums.

To enter, youngsters will need to submit: Their mascot design; Their name, age and contact details; A summary (100 words) about why their design should be picked.
