A big screen announcement late on Saturday night confirmed that Beattie would be attending the event, due to take place on August 10 and 11.

The 34-year-old - from Edinburgh - was hoping to play at May’s event but is currently on tour, so is coming in August instead.

In a small announcement clip the Salamander Street singer said he was “really excited” to be coming to MacMoray” for the first time.

MacMoray organiser Andy Macdonald said: “I planned with Callum Beattie to announce him at this event.

“He wanted to play at MacMoray Easter, but he can’t because he’s on tour right now.

“He’s one of the artists that has been asked for more than anyone. Everyone has asked for him. I’m just so glad I could get him.”

Plans for MacMoray’s Summer Special are long underway. The Vamps, Cascada, Aqua, Status Quo, The Jacksons and Bonnie Tyler were announced for the festival back in 2023.

More bands are due to be announced in the coming weeks and months. As always, announcements will be seen on The Northern Scot website.
