RESIDENTS at a Moray care home had to rein in their excitement after being treated to a horse and carriage trip around their village.

Two Clydesdale horses, Dallas and Donald, were guests at Speyside care home in Aberlour. The horses are owned by David Walker, whose mother Marjory is a resident at Speyside.

Residents were delighted when members of Marjory's family offered to take residents on a trip around the village with David at the reins, assisted by his wife Beverly and Marjory’s brother, Sir Jim Walker.

Speyside manager Louise Gillies said: “It was fantastic to meet David's horses. Marjory adores them.

"It was a rare treat to ride around the village in a luxurious horse and carriage. Needless to say, our residents loved meeting Dallas and Donald.

"We are so grateful to David, Beverly and Sir Jim for arranging such a memorable day out for our residents.”
