KIDS throughout Moray have been drawing rainbows to cheer folk up during lockdown and now young artists are being encouraged to attempt a Guinness world record.

In an attempt to create the largest online photo album of collages, The Creation Station is encouraging kids to produce a portrait made from recycled, reused and collage material.

The official Guinness world record attempt, which is open to all ages, aims for more than 50,000 entries.

Collage pictures can be a self-portrait or represent a pet or a person. Once complete, entries should be uploaded to the www.ourcreativeface.com website, where full details and a gallery of entries can be viewed.

Karen Cruickshank, who runs The Creation Station in Moray, said: "When lockdown started we decided to do the collages as a thank you to the NHS and key workers and we are lucky to have teamed up with the Guinness World Records to enable children to create something positive and rewarding for them during this time.

"We have also been getting kids to design postcards for the elderly and vulnerable people."

Prior to the pandemic and lockdown, Karen worked in local playgroups and primary schools, and also worked with children with learning disabilities at the New Elgin Hub.

The Creation Station runs weekly fun and educational arts and crafts workshops in Elgin, Lossiemoth, Forres and Fochabers. More information can be found on their Facebook page.
