PLUCKY Chloe Dean is getting ready to climb Scotland’s highest mountain.
The six-year-old will make the 4,408ft ascent in memory of her much-loved granny, Alison Dean, who died two years ago aged just 57, from brain cancer.
Chloe, who attends Mosstodloch Primary, will be accompanied by her mum Rachel Reid, and uncle Matthew Reid, in her attempt on July 28.
The idea to climb the mountain was Chloe’s.
“A friend of ours climbed Ben Nevis last year and Chloe wanted to do it, but I was a bit sceptical whether she could do it,” said Rachel (34), who lives at Easter Clockeasy Farm, near Lhanbryde, with partner William Dean.
“I wasn’t sure how dangerous it was, but I climbed it last year with friends, and knew she could do it. She is such a determined person.”
Ben Nevis, near Fort William, is the highest mountain in the British Isles and attracts around 125,000 ascents each year.
“If she sets her mind to something she will do it. She is a very active kid,” added her mum.
