A TRIO of events are set to be held by Moray Markets in local towns in the lead up to Christmas.

Christmas markets will take place in Lossiemouth, Fochabers and Elgin before the big day on December 25.

Lossiemouth Christmas Market is first up – taking place on Friday, December 1, and Saturday, December 2, at the town hall.

Stalls from 30 local businesses will be on offer, along with catering vans offering coffee. Mulled wine is also available for those who fancy something stronger.

For children, there will be a Santa's grotto (no bookings required) and a nutcracker hunt. Moray Monday Club is the event's chosen charity.

The Lossiemouth event is followed, a week later, by Fochabers Christmas Market, which will take place on Friday and Saturday, December 8 and 9.

The event will be hosted by the Fochabers Public Institute and will have the same number of stalls, as well as the nutcracker hunt. The chosen charity is Riding for the Disabled.

The biggest event of the three is the Elgin Giant Christmas Market – due to come visit Moray Sports Centre on Saturday, December 16.

It will have more than 100 stalls for last-minute shoppers, with a Santa's grotto and, again, a nutcracker hunt for the young ones. The charities are Clan Cancer and Enable Scotland.

Entry to all events is free of charge.
