The event, which is being held at Lhanbryde Community Centre, will begin at 2pm with representatives from local community projects presenting their ideas in two-minute slots for local people to vote on.

Everyone attending will be allowed to vote for multiple projects and the votes will be counted and winners announced on the day.

Winning projects will be awarded between £250 and £1000 to help put their ideas into action.

Clare Flenley, the Church of Scotland's participatory budgeting development worker, said: "The Church of Scotland is running a participatory budgeting programme again this year, involving ten churches in Scotland, funded by the Scottish Government’s Community Choices Fund and the Kirk’s Church and Society Council.

“Congregations have been working with their communities to source proposals for locally-run projects and activities that will benefit the community.

“The public are invited to come along to their local voting events where these proposals will be presented, and they can vote to decide which should be funded from the available budget.

“Everyone is welcome to go along, listen to the presentations, and vote.”

The event will take place at Lhanbryde Community Centre on Sunday, April 28 with registration from 1.30pm registration for a 2pm start.
