A GLOBE-TROTTING German ensemble is taking its classical music crusade to Keith and Elgin audiences this month.
The Chamber Philharmonia Cologne plays around 300 concerts a year all over the world. The musicians will present a diverse programme ranging from Vivaldi and his "Concerto grosso D Minor" to Bach, Mozart and Saint-Saens when they perform at St Rufus Church in Keith and St Giles Church in Elgin.
The musicians are currently touring the UK and Ireland after several successful European and overseas tours throughout 2017-18.
"Classical music the world over" is the motto of the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne. The musicians say their enthusiasm to play is the same whether performing in a village church, in the open air, or Sydney Opera House.
They say their reason for being is to inspire as many people as possible – across all generations – to enjoy classical music.
Founded in a city famed for its University of Music, Europe's largest academy of music, the ensemble has its pick from the cream of the musical crop, with an ever-changing cast to take its motto across the world.
Its continually expanding repertoire includes both popular and unknown works from various musical epochs. This sees familiar classical greats alongside works from the likes of Sergei Prokofieff and "King of Tango" Astor Piazzolla.
They will play in Keith on July 21, at 7.30pm. To book tickets phone St Rufus Manse on 01542 882799, or The Kirk Shop on Mid Street on 01542 886390.
For the Elgin performance on Thursday, July 25, at 7.30pm, tickets can be bought from Sound and Vision, on South Street, on 01343 556166.
