Collision closes A96 near Alves
A STRETCH of the A96 in Moray has been closed following a collision between a woman and a car.
Police Scotland confirmed they were called to the scene between Alves and Forres, near to the turn off to Glenburgie Distillery, just before 4pm this afternoon.
A spokesman said: "Police were called around 3.55pm to the A96 near Forres for a collision between a car and a woman. We have no further details on the injuries at this stage."
As of 4.40pm, police said the road remained closed in both directions, with up-to-date information posted on Traffic Scotland's website.
It is the second time the stretch between Elgin and Forres has been closed this week. On Monday, a section near Ardgye was closed after a mobile crane fell on the road.
