Comedian Jenny Eclair adds north-east date to tour
One of the country’s best loved stand-up comedians has announced an Aberdeen stop off as her latest tour is extended due to popular demand.
Just announced as one of the contestants in the next series of Taskmaster, Jenny Eclair is a firm favourite from her time as one of TV’s Loose Women as well as her starring role in the hugely successful Grumpy Old Women Live shows.
Jenny will visit Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre on Wednesday, September 6 next year.
Having hit 60 – but still a year younger than Madonna) – she says she's now confronting a new decade of decrepitude where it takes 20 minutes of scrolling down to find her date of birth when filling in forms online.
The stand-up was the first woman to win the Perrier Award – the UK’s top comedy prize.
Since then, she has also found fame as the author of six critically acclaimed novels and one non-fiction book.
Her latest, Older and Wider, covers the almost taboo topic of the menopause.
She is the writer of the popular BBC Radio 4 series of monologues, Little Lifetimes.
Small screen highlights include The Apprentice: You’re Fired!, Room 101 and I’m a Celebrity in 2010, where she came third.
Promoter Doug Taylor said: "We can’t wait to welcome Jenny for what will be a terrific night of peerless comedy."
