Elgin Rotary receives talk from community manager of charity Mission Aviation Fellowship

ROTARY Elgin was delighted to receive a talk from Mission Aviation Fellowship's community manager for Scotland last week.

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is a humanitarian airline charity established in 1945 to help vulnerable people in hard-to-reach places in underdeveloped countries throughout the world.

Andy Martin is the charity's community manager for Scotland and he gave Rotary Elgin a talk over Zoom to highlight the work done by MAF and its partners, including work done during the pandemic.

MAF operates 140 planes and has around 1150 families serving as volunteers overseas.

The charity provides subsidised flight services across jungles, mountains, swamps and deserts, working in partnership with around 2000 other charities such as Oxfam and Rotary, to deliver relief workers, doctors, pastors, school books, food and medicines to help improves the lives of those less fortunate.
