The town hall will be the venue for free testing for people without symptoms of the virus.

The effort is part of a rollout of testing sites across Moray - there are already sites in Keith and Forres - in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.

Many people with Covid-19 do not display any symptoms and will be unaware they have the virus, and therefore could be unwittingly spreading it to others.

The testing facility will run from March 15-26.

The test will be carried out free for all adults wishing to take one.

People do not need an appointment and can just turn up at the town hall.

The centre will be open 9.30am to 4pm on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1-7pm on a Wednesday.

Karen Sievewright, environmental health manager for Moray Council, said: “Almost one in three people with Covid don’t have symptoms but are still infectious.”
