CROWDS turned out in force at the weekend for the festive favourite Carols at Cooper Park.

Moray Concert Brass led Saturday's musical gathering, which took place outside Elgin Library and featured a wealth of seasonal favourites and Christmas carols.

This year's event was held in support of the High Dependency Unit at Dr Gray's, which is cause close to the heart of the band’s musical director and conductor Glenn Munro.

He was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called pseudomyxoma three years ago and despite specialist treatment in Basingstoke and several rounds of chemotherapy the cancer returned. He is now having immunotherapy in Aberdeen.

The final total from the event is still being totted up, but those who were unable to attend but would still like to make a donation can email mcbinfo21@gmail.com for details.
