June and Jayne from the June Roy School of Dance made a donation of £3,000 to two charities, Anderson's Care Home and the Moray branch of Action for Children.

The proceeds from their two sold-out Elgin Town Hall performances, called Showtime, were given to the two charities last Friday with representatives Audrey Gill and Sheila Erskine collecting the donations.

Audrey Gill, Home Manager of Anderson's Care Home said: "We at Anderson’s were delighted and very humbled to receive the extremely generous donation of £3000 from June and Jayne as proceeds from Showtime.

"As a charity Anderson’s are always extremely grateful for donations which are all used for the benefits for the residents.

The enthusiasm shown by June, Jayne was reflected by all the dancers of all ages in the show. Several of our residents and staff attended the shows and were delighted to be there and witness a show worthy of a far bigger stage."

The show featured more than 200 students from all over Moray, with dancers aged from two years to Adults taking part.

The themes of the show were the story of the 4 Seasons and a Trip down Memory Lane evolving into an extravaganza of genres of dance including Highland, National, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Irish.

All involved were inspired following the recent years of COVID restrictions with Elgin Town Hall being full to capacity on both nights.
