HELP for hearing aid wearers and weekly buggy walks are the latest local health services to be disrupted by the coronavirus crisis.

The audiology service for hearing aid repairs at Elgin's Dr Gray's Hospital and Seafield Hospital, in Buckie, has been suspended for the time being.

Dr Gray's said the department has been closed and staff will no longer provide face-to-face consultations.

However, it will continue to operate a postal service for faulty hearing aids, batteries and tubing via the Audiology Department, Dr Gray's Hospital. Pluscarden Road, Elgin IV30 1SN.

Telephone consultations are available for patients with specific concerns on 01343 567309 or 01343 567693.

All Moray Health Walks, including buggy walks, are cancelled.

A Moray Health Walks spokesperson said: "We understand the importance of a weekly health walk to our walkers and volunteers and recognise that, though this is disappointing news, many of you will be in support of this decision.

"We will provide some advice on the best ways to keep active whilst reducing social contact."
