Do you know this Elgin man? Pictured with Sg Jock Young

THIS photograph and an accompanying letter were sent to the Northern Scot's Elgin office this week.

The photo was found by a reader who was having a clear-out.

The letter says Sg Jock Young, pictured on the left, lived in the Seafield Primary School area of Elgin – around Fraser Avenue and Christie Road.

Mr Young would be seen in the original Elgin City Social Club on a Saturday afternoon, with founder members of the club Danny Russell, Bob Russell and Dodi Strachan. All were 5th/6th Seaforth Highlanders signed up at Elgin or Forres, the letter added.

The other Sg, pictured on the right, is unknown.

Mr Young's family are invited to come forward and take the photo.
