A DONATION drive set up in Elgin to help Ukrainian refugees hopes to receive further support this weekend.

The donations will provide a vital resource to the refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, who often have very little with them.

Over the last few weeks, the people of Moray have come out in their masses to donate essential products to those fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.

The campaign organised last week by Elgin's Polish Deli, Food Plus was a huge success and within two days people in Elgin had filled seven vans with vital products.

Due to the enormous generosity of the people of Moray, the organiser, Anna Rybacka was asked to stop accepting donations until they could be sorted through and an assessment made of which items were still required.

The organisers have now been given an updated list and will be holding another drop off session on Sunday March 13 at Weir Black Belt Academy, with the hopes that Moray locals will continue to provide essential products to Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

Anna said: "We will be collecting more donations on Sunday for people fleeing from Ukraine and for fighting soldiers.

"We wholeheartedly thank you for all the donations we collected last week and we believe that the people of Moray will be with us again."
