Door windows smashed at Elgin's Batchen Lane Car Park

ENQUIRIES are ongoing after two entrances to Batchen Lane Car Park in Elgin were vandalised.

Glass on doors opposite the Northfield Terrace Car Park and a door underneath the ramp up into the Batchen Lane Car Park has been smashed.

A Moray Council employee spotted the damage when arriving for work just before 7am on Thursday, December 28.

Smashed bottles of alcohol were visible at both doors, with broken glass strewn over the ground.

It is not known if someone was attempting to break in to the car park, but police described the incident as vandalism.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are made aware of vandalism to premises on Batchen Lane, Elgin on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

"Enquiries are at an early stage".
