Morag Martin – who runs Ceamara Photography – has been nominated for Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year (North) and Outstanding Wedding Photographer of the Year.

She is no stranger to the awards – in fact, Morag has been nominated every year since 2019, with a one-year gap due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2020 she was named Scotland's best wedding photographer, and last year she won the north section.

All nominees are put forward by members of the public. Photographers then submit snaps which are judged by a panel.

Morag, who also works as a tour guide at Glenfiddich Distillery, was delighted to have received so much public support yet again.

"It's amazing to be nominated," she said. "It's a public vote so it's amazing to have that support.

"It's a very rewarding job anyway, but to have that support behind you and have people recognise your hard work is amazing.

"I literally have the best job in the world – capturing happiness is what I do – and to have that support makes it even better."

Taking photographs at weddings is a big part of Morag's job. Snapping people on their big day is something she adores doing.

"It's a lovely job to do, getting to capture that happiness," she said. "At the end of a wedding day people will say they can't remember half of it because of the adrenaline.

"I can show them their wedding day and watching their faces light up when I give them their photo album is great.

"I have had lots of amazing wedding, but every wedding has special points and they all stand out for a different reason.

"I have a Viking-themed wedding this year so I'm really excited for that."

The winners of the Scottish Wedding Awards will be announced in Glasgow on March 6.

Morag, who set up Ceamara Photography in October 2012, added: "I'm excited to be there. It's a great night to go to, be in that atmosphere and meet people who do the same kind of job I do.

"Even if I don't come home with an award to be nominated is amazing. It's great to see our area get a lot of recognition, too, because we work hard up here."
