A LOCAL group that works with adults with learning difficulties is set to bring its annual pantomime to Elgin Town Hall in the new year.

Dreamtime Community Arts, which was formed seven years ago, runs activities related to the arts including theatre, music, makaton sign language, cooking and crafts.

One of the highlights of the group’s calendar is their pantomime. Their new show Aladdin will premiere on January 26.

Last year, their production of Sleeping Beauty sold out tickets to the town hall and Sara Chiappa and Alison Mackenzie, founders of the group, are hoping to repeat the same success next month.

Sara said: “Seeing all their hard work pay off is just amazing. It makes us feel so emotional as they put in 110 per cent in everything that they do.

“We give them the script and then they come back the next week and have memorised it all. Every year we think of how to improve, and every year they surpass.”

The group has received help from actors of the Buckie Community Theatre, which has also provided costumes for the production of Aladdin.

Tickets can be booked by contacting the Dreamtime Community Arts Facebook page: facebook.com/DreamtimeCommunityArtsLTD or by phone: 07809277445
