Dufftown gets festive for Christmas Market

Dufftown has a whole load of raffle prizes on offer for those buying tickets at its Christmas Market this Saturday.

An iPad is up for grabs during the event which will take place both inside the British Legion and a marquee outside.

Other prizes include afternoon tea for two at the Dowan's Hotel in Aberlour, a round for four at Dufftown Golf Course and a meal voucher for Craigellachie's Highland Inn.

Added to that are biscuit hampers from Walkers, whisky bottles from Glenfiddich as well as The Macallan and gin from Gordon & MacPhail.

Meanwhile the entertainment will include visits from Santa and the fire brigade, plus music from Keith Silver Band.

Andy Wrigley, a director of the Dufftown and Mortlach Development Trust, said: "We'll have loads of stalls and events taking place.

"It will be a fun and festive afternoon full of crafts, gifts, food and drink and a fantastic raffle with lots of prizes

"It's going to be a very festive event for our community and beyond, so come along."

The trust is a not-for-profit initiative that's run by volunteers and focuses on community-based initiatives aimed at boosting Dufftown and the local area.

As well as the Christmas market, it runs a farmers markets every second Saturday.

These started about a year ago and have steadily been building momentum since.

Dufftown Christmas Market is on Saturday, December, from 3pm-6pm.
